Sometimes the best way to travel is to partake in all the epic music festivals around the world. They’re fun, enlightening, and you meet some pretty awesome people. One of the best things? FESTIVAL HAIR.
One of my personal favorite parts of any festival is figuring out my looks for each day, and hair is one of the things I spend the most time researching. So, if you’re like me, and need a little hair-spiration for your next music festival or rave, look no further!
If you’re heading to a music festival, nothing quite says you’re ready to party than a beautiful pair of rave braids. Braids are the epic rave hair look and can easily compliment any outfit you piece together!
An easy mohawk braid is a beautiful festival look. It works great for day-old unwashed hair. And a bonus, it keeps your hair out of your face!
Some beautiful tinsel or tassels are the perfect addition to your festival braids. They instantly add a pop of color and elegance to any look. These are becoming quite popular in the music festival space so expect to be seeing more of this iconic look!
I absolutely love space buns to complement any festival look. It’s the iconic rave hair- a staple in the dance music space for an obviously good reason! Space buns are easy, stylish, and keeps your hair out of your face as the night rages on. There’s a variety of ways these can be done, too.
A great compliment to your space buns festival hair is a nice pop of color! Raves are all about having fun and letting go. They bring people from all walks of life together and celebrate your beautiful uniqueness.
Why not combine beautiful festival braids with epic space buns? And then add some glitter to boot! I’m thinking heck yes!
FYI: My favorite color is glitter 🙂
Heading to EDC this year? You’ll need to read this post for all last-minute essentials:
Another temporary hair color idea for festivals is hair chalk. It can very easily be applied to blonde/light brown hair to add a pop of color to any rave hair look. Be aware that it doesn’t show up very well on dark brown to black hair.
If you’re someone with dark hair or you’re just not feeling up to dying your hair, a wig is a great alternative! Wigs are very versatile, super easy to put on, and you can literally have a different look for each night of the festival!
Bohemian fashion has been around for decades and personally, it’s my favorite style to rock in my day-to-day attire. But at music festivals, this style is on full display. You’ll see flowy skirts, crochet tops, and all the bling and accessories. One iconic boho look is one with a beautiful floral crown to compliment those festival hair waves.
A flawless boho festival look is just some nice, loose beach waves. This look was perfect for the second night of EDC because my hair was unwashed. A little dirt makes the waves more dynamic!
Interlacing feathers is always a unique and fun festival hair look. They look great with any bohemian hairstyle and can be easy to attach.
Not feeling up to doing your hair? These steampunk hats are all the rage! They look great for Burning Man or any other music festival or rave!
Nothing like a cute fedora to compliment a festival look. And helps block the sun from your face! And with fedoras, you can choose to wear your hair up or leave it down. Either way, it looks good!
Can you say pretty in pink? Cowgirl hats are a great accessory for festival hair.
This concludes my list of festival hair looks! When heading to a music festival, the possibilities for hair and accessories are endless! What’s your favorite look?
